Antwon Gleaton is a dynamic and driven professional from Columbia, South Carolina, who joined the College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management at the University of South Carolina in July 2023 as assistant director of development. He is dedicated to fostering innovation and establishing philanthropic relationships in his role with the College of HRSM.

With a passion for business development and problem solving, Gleaton has made significant strides in his career by making a positive impact on the entrepreneurial landscape in his community. His educational background and experience in academia have contributed to his success in guiding and supporting small businesses in their growth and development.

Gleaton earned his Bachelor of Science in general business from Limestone University in 2014. During his time at Limestone, he exhibited a strong commitment to academic excellence and displayed exceptional leadership skills within various campus organizations.

Determined to expand his knowledge and expertise, Gleaton pursued a Master of Business Administration from Webster University, which he successfully completed in 2017. This advanced degree equipped him with the necessary tools to excel in his chosen career path.

Gleaton's career trajectory led him to the University of South Carolina in 2020, where he became an integral part of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) as a program coordinator II. While working with the SBDC, Gleaton used his business acumen and strategic mindset to provide expert guidance to start-ups and established businesses alike. He helped them navigate challenges, access funding opportunities, and leverage resources for growth and success.

Gleaton enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends, traveling, volunteering at his local church, and hiking and exploring nature trails. Additionally, he is enthusiastic about mentoring and takes immense satisfaction in sharing his knowledge and experience with the next generation of leaders.
