Is it ok for my University 101 Instructor to write a letter of recommendation?

Yes, we welcome letters of recommendation from U101 instructors. Please remember that your letter needs to be on school letterhead and requires the signature of the recommending party.

Is the application deadline for incoming freshmen, transfer students, and current students the same?

Yes.

If I have not yet been accepted to USC/College of HRSM, can I still apply for a scholarship?

Yes. Once you are accepted into the university/college, you will be considered for scholarships.

How do I obtain a copy of my unofficial USC transcript?

If you are a current USC student, your USC unofficial transcript can be found by logging into Self Service Carolina.

How can I determine if my family income is no more than 2.75 times the current national poverty level?

Look online to find the most recent national poverty level guidelines based on your family size and income, and then you can determine if your family income is less than 2.75 times that amount.

What do I need to do to prove my financial need on the scholarship application?

If you have applied for financial aid through USC, the college will obtain your FAFSA score and there is nothing you need to provide on your application.  

If you have not applied for financial aid through USC but would like to explain your financial need, please upload a document with an explanation of your situation in the space provided on the application.  

Additionally, if your financial need has changed since you last applied for aid through USC, you may upload an explanation in the space provided on the application.
