Why did you choose USC Rice School of Law?
I chose USC Rice Law because of its strong sense of community, supportive student body, and welcoming alumni network. I knew I wanted to practice in South Carolina, and the connections the school offers through its alumni are incredible. Being able to learn in an environment where students genuinely support one another made the decision easy. Becoming a double Gamecock was a no brainer!
What advice would you give a first-year law student?
Run your own race! It’s so easy to compare yourself to others and feel like you need to be doing more, but the most important thing is to keep your head down and work hard. All you can do is give your best effort every day, be a kind classmate and friend, and learn from the people around you. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, everyone at USC Law is incredibly supportive and wants to help you succeed!
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
One accomplishment I’m really proud of is getting my dream summer clerkship after 1L while still maintaining a healthy balance between law school and my personal life. Learning how to prioritize school while making time for my friends and family wasn’t always easy, but I’m proud that I was able to work hard, stay balanced, and achieve a goal that meant so much to me.
