Psychology Services Center

The Psychology Services Center (PSC) is a mental health clinic serving patients in Columbia, South Carolina, and the surrounding Midlands region. We are also a training and research facility of the psychology department at the University of South Carolina. 
Our mission is to serve as a low-barrier mental health resource for underserved community members through the provision of affordable, evidence-based intervention. 

Our Services

We provide therapeutic intervention and psychological assessment to children, families, couples and individual adults through our sliding-scale payment structure to keep services affordable. 

We provide intervention services to clients with: 

  • Attention difficulties
  • Anxiety or worry
  • Behavioral challenges
  • Coping with traumatic life events
  • Couples therapy  
  • Depression
  • Difficulties adjusting to life circumstances (e.g., divorce, loss, work stress)  
  • Social Skills
  • Traumatic life events
  • Other presenting concerns

Our assessment and evaluation services focus on: 

  • Academic and/or testing accommodations
  • Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
  • Autism Spectrum Disorders and developmental disabilities
  • Comprehensive Psychological Evaluations  
  • Disability applications
  • Learning disabilities
  • Traumatic brain injury
