Center for Childhood Neurotherapeutics

The Center for Childhood Neurotherapeutics at the University of South Carolina seeks to discover new ways to treat nervous system diseases and promote neural repair.

The center was established in 2013 by South Carolina's SmartState Endowment Program with the recruitment of Dr. Jeff Twiss. Since then, the center has expanded its faculty and research programs to tackle critical challenges in childhood neurotherapeutics. The center is helping to improve understanding about how the nervous system develops; how it responds to illness, disorders and injury; and how it heals.
