The University of South Carolina’s First-Generation Symposium is an annual celebration
of the experiences, successes, and unique needs of first-generation college students.
Hosted by the Center for Teaching Excellence, this collaborative event is supported
by the Graduation and Retention Network (GARNET), the First-Generation Center, the Office of Access and Opportunity, TRIO,
and Horseshoe Catering. Join us for an inspiring day filled with engaging discussions,
insightful data, and impactful stories.

The Graduation and Retention Network (GARNET) invites all attendees to bring a can opener to donate to the on-campus pantry supporting food security for those on campus in need.
