SOCY 101

Introductory Sociology

This course will give you a broad introduction to the field of sociology. We'll practice taking a sociological perspective. That is, how our social environment shapes us, and how we - in turn - shape our social environments.

Due to the breadth of the discipline, we'll discuss a different sociological topic each Module, covering some of the most important lines of inquiry in the field. This is a 100% asynchronous online course with no (virtual) class meetings. You can access the course entirely on Blackboard. SOCY 101 is divided into 14 Modules, covering a range of sociological topics. We will cover roughly one Module per day. If you are motivated, organized, want to learn, and want an interactive course that gives you flexibility, then you’re in the right place.
