Sustainable Carolina seeks to educate and transform the campus and community by promoting collaborative relationships among students, faculty, staff, and community members for exploring and implementing the changes required to create a sustainable campus and society. With offices housed in the Learning Center for Sustainable Futures, we are a collaboration of individuals and departments, including at our core the Office of Sustainability, the Green Quad, Housing, and Facilities.
We endeavor to be a model of a campus organization that embodies ecological principles, adopting a decentralized, non-hierarchical structure. Our 18 project teams, many led by students, combine the efforts of students, faculty, staff, and community members. In accord with USC Connect and the Carolina Leadership Initiative, our student staff members not only contribute to sustainability on campus, but they also learn the skills and tools necessary to take on leadership roles in their future careers.
